Gran Canaria - Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas
This course designed by the great English architect Mackenzie Ross, is the oldest in Spain and was founded in 1891. It is located 15 minutes from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, but at an altitude of 400 meters. It has beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains. Unique is the experience of playing around a volcano, since it is on the edge of the Bandama boiler, a crater of an ancient volcano 800 meters in diameter and 200 deep.
The course is par 71, and is pleasant to walk. All the holes are varied and different from each other, allowing the use of every club in the bag. It is a classic design golf course with excellent greens, usually in perfect condition and very fast. Its large bunkers are strategically placed so it is advisable to be a good bunker player or place the ball well. Its fairways are rather narrow and with moderate slopes. The large trees to the sides undertake to making hitting the ball straight.
It is a suitable course for players with medium-low handicap, steeped in history, founded the last century by English residents where persist the elegance and atmosphere of the old golf clubs.
